The Viking Bucket

In all our matches the opposing teams put a bucket of water at half field. Each team we have faced also used the bucket. Some teams more traditionally than others.

In the day of the Viking when they would arrive back at camp or meet in tribal forums, the chief would go to the bucket and wash his face and hands. Rinse out his mouth ( spitting the water back into the bucket) as well as clean out his nose ,etc. Then in decending ranking order the rest would use the bucket in the same manner.

We did see the other teams would reach in and clean off their faces and perhaps grab a drink out of the same bucket. We did see one team spit back in it.

The only time our team used the bucket was when we were given our own bucket and then they still were not to anxious to use it.
