Sigtnuna Match

We just completed our first match vs Sigtuna soccer club.

The girls came out a little flat in the first 10 minutes I will call it jet lag, however, Sara took an in out move and got our first goal. That seemed to open up the gate for us as we took a 4-0 lead into the half. AD got the second goal on a out side break away. Tayler got the third with a shot from the 18. Sara got her second goal or the fourth of the half on a cross from Tayler.

Paige got 2 in the second, Lauren Cowgur got 2 and Hope Ann Finished with a nice in and out to end the scoring. As the game was winding down and getting a little out of hand I pulled our forwards back to defender so we had six in the back. We then gave up our only goal with about 2 minutes left in the game. Hard to keep a good rythmn and timing with that many people in the back. The final score was 9-1.

The girls played very well one we got past the jet lag. The team we played I would rank very high in their technical skills. They passed well and knew what to do better than some of the good teams we play. We were a little too athletic for them. The team was actually a older age group team but the field was huge. Much bigger than what we play in the US. That really plays to our advantage.

I held out TW to get her ankle back under her. Here are a few pictures from today. Above is the castle we visited today, Donut is ok. Jay will have plenty to bring home.
